Idem automates file synchronization and data replication. At regular time interval, checks a list of source folders and updates target folders with new or modified sub-folders and files. It distributes and secures critical data duplicating it from a computer location to another.
Used to create a mirror for disaster recovery or to backup files and synchronize directories. You can use Idem to synchronize a laptop on a network and for real-time mirroring of folders on ZIP drive, CD-RW, removable hard disk, network drives, local hard disk.
Idem is distinguishable from other mirroring or clustering products by its ability to fully preserve Macintosh filenames and structures when stored on a Windows NT/2000 server. This software solution for synchronizing important folders across network drives or simply maintain backups is fully automated and can optionally run as a Windows NT/2000 service.
Idem can check and copy the files and folders security informations (ACL permissions - access-control lists on NTFS partitions) and the files and folders attributes (hidden, system, archive, etc.) during synchronization tasks.
