However, if fantastic by all-in-one design flat iMac, you may have an iMac with 1920*1080 high resolutions as your desktop. Then, you¡¯ll be annoyed to find this powerful iMac so unfriendly to HD Writer that editing Panasonic SD900 AVCHD is impossible using Panasonic SD own software HD Writer 3.0. Never mind, since HD Writer can only works on Windows OS; you may try to edit SD900 AVCHD in iMovie or FCP. Meanwhile, the more frustrating is that neither iMovie nor FCP can recognize HDC-SD900 MTS files. Is there another way to import Panasonic HDC-SD900 recorded 1080/60p AVCHD to iMovie? Of course, you can edit 1080/60p MTS in iMovie if you have Final Mate for HD cams totranscode AVCHD to iMovie¡¯s compatible format. Firstly, right click clips in ¡°Movie¡± to select ¡°change output type to conversion type¡±, then, click format icon to select iMovie and Final Cut Express>>Apple InterMediate Codec (AIC) (*.mov) Step 3: Convert MTS to iMovie The last step comes to convert Panasonic SD900 AVCHD to AIC for iMovie. When conversion¡¯s done, you will directly load the exported AIC to iMovie for special editing. Even if we can¡¯t have HD Writer on Mac, we still have the best solution for editing Panasonic SD900 MTS files in iMovie. But never forget to download Panasonic¡¯s good assistant: Final Mate to convert MTS to AIC. |

Eagle_Tas | I have tried MIDI Tracker for a while and made songs for professional sales in it. As far as I can tell, this is one of the best adaptions of MIDI in a tracker. However it suffers from various minor short-comings. One is the random crashing. When working in split mode, changing the order list sometimes corrupt the patterns, changing patterns while the song is playing and so on corrupts as well. Another problem is lack of documentation. Although MIDI Tracker is quite simple, most of the interface is left to the end user to figure out him-/herself. Third problem is lag between patterns when following songs. Although minor, it still remains irritating. To not make this review too one-sided, MIDI Tracker does have features that adds to it's power. One is the good one pattern per channel idea. It makes editing a bit easier when dealing with loops and repeats. Another is the optimisers who automatically rid your module of junk data like unused tracks. Between the bugs, glitches and mysteries, MIDI Tracker has stood up quite well along my trial period of generous 3 months and I definitely plan to purchase it. However, bug fixing and better documentation is definitely in order. |
